Service Description

What is hand building? It is a set of ancient techniques for shaping clay using just your hands and simple tools, without the need of a potter’s wheel. A satisfying, hands-on process that lets you slow down, focus, and enjoy the tactile joy of creating something with your own hands. Is there an age restriction? Yes, the minimum age is 9 years. The session is designed for adults, and in our experience yourger kids are unable to follow the pace and focus required. PLEASE NOTE our studio isn’t designed for toddlers. With open areas, no boundaries, and many fragile pieces around, it can quickly become stressful for parents and unsafe for little ones. What’s included in the fee? All clay, tools, and guidance are provided. What will I make in this session? We’ll start with a warm-up exercise to get familiar with the clay. Then, you’ll create a small pinch pot and move on to decorating or sculpting a unique crafted piece. Do I get to keep what I make? Yes! You can carry your clay pieces home with you the same day. They will be unfired and delicate, so please handle them with care during transport. Since they are not fired, the pieces won’t be waterproof or food-safe—but you can paint them with acrylics at home and keep them as beautiful, handmade decorations and keepsakes. How long is the workshop? 2 hours. Please arrive on time—since this is a group session, the teacher cannot re-start instructions if someone joins late. What should I wear or bring? Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting a little clay on. Preferably no whites and lights. Can I take photos during the session? Casual phone photography is fine, but no professional photo/videoshoots are allowed during the workshop. What is your cancellation/rescheduling policy?
