Metalsmithing is an age-old craft of transforming raw metal into forms we carry with us. Through fire, pressure and handwork, a rigid material takes shape, becoming something personal and enduring. In this hands-on session, Meher Sinha will guide you through the fundamentals of metalsmithing, sharing her knowledge of the craft as you work with brass or copper. Over three hours, you'll explore techniques such as texturing, forming, ring sizing and soldering, learning how each step contributes to shaping your own ring. Choose your preferred metal and ring size, and take home a piece crafted by your own hands. For those who wish to explore the craft beyond this introduction, there is also the opportunity to enquire about more in-depth learning. A few things to note: - No prior experience is needed. - All the materials will be provided in the class - No extra charges for the ring you make - Suitable for participants aged 16 and above
